A sample group of 12 patients who took the new drug had the average time to fall asleep was 27.3 minutes with a standard deviation of 5.2 minutes; while a sample group of 14 patients who took a commonly used drug (older drug) had an average time was 32.7 minutes with a standard deviation of 4.1 minutes.
