Temperature is a material property that gives the degree of average kinetic energy of the
vibrating molecules present in a substance of a system High temperaure gives higher degree of
randomness. Heat is defined as a form of energy that gets converted into kinetic enegy of
moelcules. Heat is directly proportional to temperature.As object gets heated the temperature
starts rising.In general terms heat can be defined as form of energy which is the cause and
temperature gives the measurement of it which is the effect. But both heat and temperature
behave as an energy ta a system.But Heat gives the sum of energy in the system and temperature
gives the mean of kinetic energy.
For example, if any object is having temperatureit will be incorrect to say that the object "has
heat". Heat can be measured if energy gets transferred from a object to another object. For
example consider 2 objects that has same temperature and are in contact .The temperature in
them may be 500 degrees F, but no heat gets transferred between them.
