In 2007, the MPAA announced that it would allow filmmakers to appeal ratings based on what other films had been rated in the past. This move came after the success of the movie This Film Is Not Yet Rated, which is extremely critical of the MPAA. Should the MPAA ratings members be kept secret from the public? Should ratings be a negotiation between the MPAA and the filmmaker?
