As suggested by Dudgeon et al, when a nation establishes dominance over other territories it is called colonialism but when the nation removes its dominance and undoing of colonialism withdrawal its colonial power it is called decolonisation. Prior to World War I, t
he colonial empires rule throughout the world. Decolonization not only the removal of the dominance of the colonial empire within the geographical area but also decolonizing of the mind from the colonizer’s ideas.
As suggested by Dudgeon and Walker 2015, it is a political process and internalization of the rejection of mindsets of colonialist. In the cases when circumstances become extreme sometimes there are independence war, followed by some revolution. There are some stages of failed negotiation, military and police force suppression and it became violent for further negotiation. It is a known fact that in 1770 captain cook found this land and claimed it a British territory, then the process of colonisation begun. Availability of free land in this territory mainly attracted the British to come into this land.

Now there are 27 countries in the Colombo plan it provides different aids, many scholarships, developments program and other advisory services specially drug advisory programme to the countries of this plan. In 1972, Bangladesh become member of this plan. In 1962 Bhutan, in 1963 Afghanistan, Brunei in 2008, Fiji in 1972, Indonesia in 1953, Japan in 1954, Iran in 1966, India and Australia in 1950, South Korea in 1962, Laos in 1951,Malaysia in 1957, Maldives in 1963, Mongolia in 2004, Nepal in 1952,New Zealand and Pakistan both in 1950, Mayanmar in 1952, Papua New Guinea in 1973, Philippines in 1954,Saudi Arabia in 2012,United states in 1951, Singapore in 1966, Thailand in 1954,In 1950 Sri Lanka become member of this programme. There are also past member of this plan from 1992 Canada was no longer a member of this plan. From 1991 United Kingdom, Cambodia in 1951 and South Vietnam in 1974 are no longer member of this plan. But in 2004 Vietnam signed the Colombo plan and from that day it is a active member of the Colombo plan.
In 1973 DAP programme established, the Colombo plan collaborated with many organization nationally and internationally for drug demand and supply reduction areas. Countries like Tajikistan, Myanmar and Afghanistan to work closely the area of rehabilitation and treatment with UNODC.
By promoting treatment that is based on previous result and evidence, the plan main objective is to providing education and awareness of the addiction. So an addiction treatment prevention curricula has been developed and on these curriculums trainers are trained. In 2014 it conducted many initiatives in different countries covering many beneficiaries. To promote drug prevention educational programmes the Colombo law made many efforts to identify various educational institutes in many countries.
