If we all became convinced that relativism is true, what would be lost by giving up the belief in objective truth? After all, most objectivists agree that human knowledge is fallible and that our best knowledge is always imperfect. Even the Bible’s Apostle Paul, a paragon of objectivism, said that “it is as though we see through a dark glass” and “the knowledge I now have is imperfect.”75 Even though most people would agree that we have not finally resolved the question of “what is the absolutely correct set of objective truths?” we seem to have beliefs that work for us (and our culture) and that enable us to get through life satisfactorily.
