Identify a quantitative variable (measurement) in your business/organization that has either interval or ratio level of measurement. Obtain at least 10 observations of this variable (measurement). Make up the data if you are not familiar with any Organization.
Purpose: To demonstrate the application of t-test in business.
EXAMPLE: A standard measure that fits these requirements might be product assembly time or efficiency rating (time is a ratio measure); and compared with some sort of National or Company Standard. You can apply t-test hypothesis to see if the average assembly time for a product is different for the 10 observations and compared with the National or Company’s Standard.
Conduct the t-test hypothesis using your samples (observations for the 10 employees), discuss your findings as a reply to thisforum, and provide feedback to your colleagues’ examples. Do not upload your calculations or Excel output, it is optional if you decided to do so

Emphasis is placed on understanding Time Value of Money concepts and applying those ideas to evaluating stocks, bonds and capital budgeting decisions. Course learning outcomes By the end of this course, students should successfully be able to: • Apply TVM concepts to investment decisions of a company • Create and interpret cash flow statements • Determine discount/hurdle rates • Evaluate investments in long-term assets • Demonstrate proficiency in valuation techniques HOW THIS COURSE WORKS Mode of delivery: This course has asynchronous lectures and in-person recitations. Pace of online activities: This course is divided into a weekly schedule as outlined on the course website in Carmen. Material will be available at least one week ahead of time. Students are expected to keep pace with weekly deadlines but may schedule their efforts freely within that time frame. Credit hours and work expectations: This is a 3-credit-hour course. According to Ohio State policy, students should expect around 3 hours per week of time spent on direct instruction (instructor content and Carmen activities, for example) in addition to 6 hours of homework (reading and assignment preparation, for example) to receive a grade of (C) average. Attendance and participation requirements: You are required to attend your assigned recitation each week. The following is a summary of everyone's expected participation: • Participating in online activities: AT LEAST ONCE PER WEEK Students are expected to log in to the course in Carmen every week. (During most weeks you will probably log in many times) If you have a situation that might cause you to miss an entire week of class, discuss it with me as soon as possible. • Lectures: ASYNCHRONOUS Lectures each week. You can find the recorded lectures under Course Schedule on the course website. These should be watched before attending recitation for the week. http://go.osu.edu/credithours http://go.osu.edu/credithours 3 • Recitation classes: ONCE PER WEEK IN PERSON You are expected to attend your assigned Recitation each week. Your TA will record attendance each week. You get credit for attending 10 out of 12 recitations, 1 point per recitation up to 10 points maximum. • Tests: CHECK THE COURSE SCHEDULE IN CARMEN FOR DATES AND TIMES. There will be three (3) tests each covering 2 or 3 chapters throughout the semester. There are no make-up exams for any reason. The tests will be administered through Carmen Quizzes. The tests will be available on Tuesdays from 6:00 am – 11:59 pm ET using Proctorio. Please note the days of each of these three (3) tests listed on the attached Course Schedule. Each timed test will be 70 minutes in length and worth 100 points each. Once you begin a test, the clock starts. The test must be completed in that one sitting. It is your responsibility to make sure your computer and internet connection are sufficient to complete the test. Any technical issues are not an excuse for test extensions or retakes. You may use a blank piece of scrap paper, a one-sided 8 1/2 x 11 page with formulas/notes and a financial calculator (BA II Plus financial calculator) as the only outside resource for the tests. The tests will be proctored using Proctorio. You will need to complete the Practice Proctorio Quiz under Quizzes prior to each exam on the computer you will use for the exam to ensure that you have set Proctorio up correctly. Failure to do so may result in getting kicked out of the test and losing time trying to get back in with permission from the Proctorio monitors. You should also restart your computer before each exam to free up RAM. Please read the section about Proctorio included in this syllabus. • Final Exam: The final exam will be cumulative covering Ch. 1,2, 5-12 and will be available on Wednesday, April 26th, 2023 from 6:00 am – 11:59 pm ET. The format will be similar to the tests but will cover all material for the semester. The final will also be proctored using Proctorio. The final will be 80 minutes in length. Once you begin a test, the clock starts. The test must be completed in that one sitting. The same conditions apply for the Final exam. You may use a blank piece of scrap paper, a one- sided 81/2 x 11 page with formulas/notes and a financial calculator (BA II Plus financial calculator) as the only as the only outside resource for the final. Please NOTE: You will NOT pass the class if you miss the Final Exam. • Homework: USUALLY DUE EVERY 1-2 WEEKS. CHECK THE COURSE SCHEDULE IN CARMEN FOR DUE DATES. Homework will be administered through MindTap. You will be given three (3) attempts on each problem. Each homework assignment is worth 15 points and your grade on each assignment will be scaled to a total of 15 points. Even if the assignment says it is worth 25 points, your grade will be adjusted to be out of 15 points. You may drop three (3) of the homework assignments. All homework is due Sunday nights at 11:59 pm. 4 • Office hours: OPTIONAL Office hours are optional but recommended especially if you are struggling with the material.
