Standards:
•    3. Preventing and controlling healthcare associated infections
•    8. Preventing and managing pressure injuries
•    9. Recognising and responding to clinical deterioration in acute health care
Assessment 1 must be completed in a maximum of 2500 words (excluding the title page, table of contents and reference list) and is worth 40 marks. Please note the word count. You will be penalised 5% (2 marks) for each 100 words exceeding the word limit.
Review the recent literature (within the last 10 years) on a quality / patient safety / clinical governance problem or issue of concern in your health organisation or clinical practice that aligns with one of the three stipulated National Standards. Referencing is to adhere strictly to APA 6th style.
You are required to include in your paper:
1.    The problem or issue of concern in your organisation or clinical practice and the stipulated National Standard to which it relates
2.    A statement about why it is (or is likely to be) a problem or issue of concern in your organisation or clinical practice
3.    The known extent of the problem or issue of concern, known causative factors and any known approaches to preventing or minimising the likelihood and consequences of the problem or issue of concern (part of the review of literature.
