ICT100 : As sessment 3 Shaleeza Sohail T1 201 9 T1 2019: ICT100 Foundations of Information Systems Assessment 3 Topic: Emerging Trends in Information Systems Submission: Report must be submitted on Moodle by Saturday 222ju1 june 1 june 2019 11:5 5 pm Presentation in Lecture and Tutorial classes on 3 June 2019 Value: Total of 25% (Written report 20%, Presentation in class 5%) Assessment Topic : Based on the last digit of the student ID, the following table shows the topic that students need to work on for their assignment: Student ID ending with Topic 0 or 5 Wearable technologies 6 or 1 Internet of Things (IoT) 2 or 7 Driverless cars 3 or 8 D Printing 3 4 or 9 Augmented Reality Table 1: Topic Allocation Assessment Details: Students must write 1500 words report and give a presentation on the topic allocated to them according to Table 1. Students need to do research on the given topic by reading recent (2015 onwards) research titles (journal articles, conference papers and books). It is very important to note that research is a key criterion that wil l influence the mark you earn. Research is considered appropriate when students make their arguments by using peer reviewed conference and journal articles. While using a minimum of three (3) journal articles is expected, students will only achieve a top m ark in their research component when they adequately use six (6) research sources, the majority of which are conference and journal articles. Kindly note that the use of WIKIPEDIA and other online encyclopedia are not allowed and may result in being given a fail grade for the report. Report: The report must contain the following sections: . Introduction: A brief introduction to the topic 1 . Why is it required? c. What are its weaknesses and strengths? d. How it is being used by businesses? . Ethical Issues: Any ethical issues that may arise due to the use of such systems 3 . Conclusion: Must summarise the most important part 4 s of the report and provide recommendations The report will be assessed on the following criteria: • Depth of Content • Accuracy of Content • Clarity of purpose • Depth of Analysis • Use of Language: Word Choice, Grammar and Sentence Structure Details a bout each criterion can be checked by assessing the subject outline. Presentation: A five - minute presentation on the main contributions of the report is to be given in Week 12 lecture and tutorial time. Use MS Powerpoint or Prezi with maximum of 4 slides for the p resentation covering the main sections of the report . The timetable for the presentation will be provided on Moodle in week 10 and students must present in their allocated time slot. The presentation will be assessed on the following criteria:  Visual Appeal  Comprehension  Presentation skills  Content Details about each criterion can be checked by assessing the subject outline.
