Q. What are the propertie
s of amino groups and why are they biologically important?
Each amino acid has unique properties within the groups it consists of. The amino acids are made up of a hydrogen atom, an R-group, a carboxyl group, and an amino group. Among these four, the amino groups have several biological properties. The amino acids together form a peptide chain and polypeptide chains compose protein structure. Each of the amino acids differs in their properties due to the presence of different R-group and an amino group. There are a total of 22 essential amino acids that differ between species. Amino acids have nutritional properties and are used in different food supplements and fertilizers for the trees. In human bodies have different neurotransmitters that transfer the signal from the brain cells to the whole body (Erdag, Merhan, & Yildiz, 2018). The neurotransmitters and histamines are made up of amino groups.
Every anatomical well as physiological structure of the human body is made up of amino acids. Their recent evidence suggests that not only the essential amino acids but the non-essential amino acids help in nutritional functions also. The essential amino acids that have nutritional properties include arginine, alanine, serine, glutamic acid, proline, glycine, cysteine, tyrosine, tryptophan, and aspartic acid. The amino acids tryptophan, histidine, valine, methionine, isoleucine, lysine, phenylalanine, and threonine cannot be synthesized in the body. These amino acids are required to get from the plant products. Recent studies have shown that rice contains a unique neurotransmitter serotonin containing amino group has biological...
