2 2 THE DESTRUCTION OF THE WORLD IS INEVITABLE, AS OUR NEED FOR LAND AND GOOD IS GROWING At present, only 31% of the world's surface is a forest area (Nazir & Ahmad, 2018). On the contrary, the total world population as per the report of is 759.43 crores which have no dividend with the total forest area. The several benefits of forest are forest producer’s timber, food, fuel and bio-products. Apart from this in the ecological functioning likes storage of carbon, nutrient cycling, water and air purification and finally, for the order of wildlife habitation, the forest plays an important role. However, the tragic view is due to the enormous augmentation of human population and human needs, forest areas are diminishing, and people are establishing their habitation in the cities. As a consequence, human lives are more fragile than more beginning days. Further wildlife is also on the verge of abating. Accordingly, in such a social plight, this research is notable for restoring more forest areas. The recent deforestation of Cambodia has been the World’s most comprehensive for accelerating the hydropower in the Mekong Region (Kaura, Arias, Benjamin, Oeurng & Cochrane, 2019). I have selected because I have a sort of individual association with the forest. From the very infancy days, I have been residing in an area that is circumscribed by the forest area. Friendly Wild animals have been my friend. I have been nurtured with abundant oxygen. However, entirely, unfortunately, the forest area where I have been born and brought up is now a mini-city. Even this forest has not been spared from the human needs and demands of the land. Therefore, the central objective is to find out some collaborative strategies in which humans start to love the forest and take care of the forest surfaces. The paper is highly manifested as several occurrences show that forest surfaces are now turned into human habitations (World Wildlife Fund, 2020). Another reason for picking this topic is it is true that most of us have a limited conception about this topic but not in a more extensive range. There are many things yet to be discovered and develop human awareness about it. Preliminary Research Another research fact that is required to be provided here is that there are approximately three hundred million people who reside in the world and depend on the forest. They rely on the forest as they carry out their livelihood and occupation by depending on the wood. Apart from this forest also supply human beings with oxygen that is required for our survival. Finally, in the preliminary research, it is also to assert that wood is home to approximately 80% of the Global terrestrial biodiversity. These groups of ecosystems include plants, animals, fungi and bacteria. Some researchers have alarmingly exhibited that 18.7 million acres of forests are lost annually that is equal to 27 soccer fields in a minute. It has been previously researched that out of the total emission of a greenhouse, 15% is the direct result of deforestation (World Wildlife Fund, 2020). With the increasing population of human beings, the needs of humans land and good is rising exponentially. In order to fulfill these demands and needs the resources available on Erath are being exploited in an uncontrolled and unsustainable manner. This is an alarming situation as with such a high consumption of resources and rapidly declining forest cover on the planet Earth, the destruction of the world seems to be inevitable. Therefore, human beings have to be seriously aware and conscious of the situation to avoid the destruction of this planet in the nearing future. Citation 1 The rush for land in an urbanizing world: From land grabbing toward developing safe, resilient, and sustainable cities and landscapes Retrieved From https://dspace.library.uu.nl/bitstream/handle/1874/347480/Author_Manuscript_The_rush_for_land_in_an_urbanizing_world_World_Development_.pdf?sequence=3 Review In this journal article, the researchers discuss about the growing land needs of humans as the trend of urbanization keeps on increasing day after day. The article also sheds light on the issue of “global land grabbing”, which has been attracting several researchers and policy makers. This will help to deal with the increasing pressure on land. The global land rush to meet the food climate and energy crisis has turned out to be a major concern as it is bound to create a serious destruction of the world. The article also focuses on the new urban agenda and discusses about making the cities safe, inclusive and sustainable. The article helps to develop a better understanding of the research topic by highlighting a comparative review of the two debates that are linked to the topic of the essay. The article shall also help to study four areas of cross-fertilization such as impacts of land investments on intra-city dynamics, semi-urban dynamics, and the emergence of new cities and new infrastructure corridors. The article concludes with a view that current infrastructural developments and land investments are transforming landscapes in a complex manner, which may prove to be extremely harmful in the end. Citation 2 Food and Agriculture organization of the United Nations (2020), Sustainable Land Management Retrieved From http://www.fao.org/land-water/land/sustainable-land-management/en/ Review According to the Food and Agriculture, organization of the United Nations, the sustainability, resilience or degradation and vulnerability of land resources depends directly on the human activities. According to the report being presented, the adoption of land use systems should be in a sustainable manner so that social benefits and economic benefits can be derived without creating much problem for the world so that its destruction could be avoided. The sustainability and productivity of land use can be determined by interaction between sources such human activities, climate and land resources. The increasing land usage has turned out to be a major problem as proper methods of land usage are not being followed and if it continues to be on the same rate destruction of the world is inevitable. As stated by Food and Agriculture organization of the United Nations, approaches such as conservation of soil and water resources, management and conservation of natural resources and integrated landscape management need to be promoted to conduct sustainable land management. It should meet the minimum requirements listed below · Driving question listed at the top · If you are satisfied with your working thesis, you have the option of including that underneath the driving question, but at this point, it is okay if you have not yet figured out your thesis · 4 pages of body paragraphs · Each paragraph should explore specific points that support one-two, focused aspects of your overall discussion (think of the first one-two "pillars" of your paper). You will of course discuss more in your full draft, so don't try to briefly skim over everything--just focus on drafting one-two main discussions, knowing you will return to draft up the remaining discussions · I will be judging length based on MLA formatted document standards, so please be sure you do the same :). A paper that is short in length does not meet minimum requirements. · Reference research from credible, college-level sources · Evidence from your research should serve as the main focus of your body paragraphs. You are required to reference at least 3 sources, which need to meet the following standards: · 1 must be scholarly · 1 must come from the library databases · Bibliography page where sources used in the paper are cited according to MLA or APA standards · This is an additional page and does not count in the 4-page length count You SHOULD NOT write an introduction or conclusion. Just jump right into body paragraphs. I know this feels awkward, but at this point, you don't have a full paper yet, so you can't introduce a paper you have yet to write. Plus we have not reviewed intros/conclusions at this point in the quarter. Body paragraphs will take up the majority of this final paper, so they should require the most attention, which is why I want you to focus your efforts on writing these areas of your paper at this point in time.
