The two stories that have been selected here tell the stories about racism and the way the Whites are always considered superior in the whole universe.
The first story ‘The Comet' Describes an incident of falling a comet over the earth. Due to this incident, all the people had and only a Black man and a White woman survived. According to Tolomeo, they have grown a relation between them but at the end of the story, the differences between Whites and Blacks remain. Even after growing a strong relationship with Jim, the Black hero of the story the white woman did not hesitate to leave him and go with her father while another Black woman decided to be on the side of Jim.
