I need help finding 3 scholarly articles that are relevant to a button up polyester shirt from Buckle.

Ch 1 The first step in the production of this garment is to determine its main purpose, or objective. This requires analysis of manufacturer’s quality standards known as Primary Quality Indicators, and the customer’s quality standards known as Secondary Quality Indicators. In addition to this step, overall performance, durability, serviceability, conformance, and aesthetics are appropriate for the final garment objective. In this case, the garments primary indicators are should have fair performance and durability, good serviceability and conformance, with great aesthetics. Ch 2 The next step in the production is designing the color, pattern, texture, silhouette, and overall fit of the garment. Tests such as lab dips and strike-offs evaluate dyed and printed fabrics for color quality. Prints are digitally developed, color reduced, and printed onto the desired fabric. Overall silhouette is determined based on all of the previous factors and aspects and leads to creating balance and proportion throughout the garment. This garment would be considered to have an H-line silhouette, leopard print fabric in neutral browns, and in a rustically rough texture. Ch 3 The next step in the production process is the selection of fabric that will be used for the final garment, based on the main purpose and preferred aesthetic of the garment. For this garment, a mid-weight polyester blend was chosen for soft comfort, with easy care and laundering. The fabric is then treated with specific finishes to improve performance and aesthetic of a garment. This shirt has been treated with basic dyes that are used for manufactured fabrics to improve the deep hues of the pattern. The shirt was also treated with crease resistant which prevents from wrinkling. Ch 4 After determining the physical features and fabrics of the garment, the details such as darts, pleats, tucks, and other embellishments are selected. These details can be both functional and can be for aesthetic purposes. In general, darts and tucks are used to fit the garment closer to the body in specific areas while pleats can be used for adding volume or design ease. This garment uses a single box pleat on the back of the shirt to add both functional and design ease. Ch 5 Once the garment and all of its design aspects have been completed, the garment is then developed for mass production. First, the garment is created in a computer software with product specifications. This could be found in a tech pack which contains information regarding standards, assembling, and packaging. The garment is then developed into multiple sizes either on a numeric or letter code sizing range. For this particular garment, it is in letter code in a size M. Ch 6 In order to assemble the garment, specific thread and stitching is chosen. This is primarily decided by the type of fabric that is used for the garment. Thread is made from yarn that is either spun, entangled, or textured. For this garment, the thread is a spun thread made from staple polyester. This equates to good chemical and abrasion resistance, colorfastness, and seam strength. The thread is then formed into repeated stitches known as stitching. This garments stitching consists of stitch type 516 in the 500 class overedge stitch and stitch type 301 in the 100 class lock stitch. Ch 7 In addition to stitching, seams are another crucial part of the garment. A seam is defined as the joining of two or more fabrics by stitching, sealing, or welding. Seams come in many forms such as superimposed, lapped, bound, flat, and edge finish, also specified by class. This garment has a superimposed seam located around the armhole and the side, which is considered class 1. The seams on the shoulder of the garment is lapped, which is considered class 2 Ch 8 In order to mass produce this garment, sourcing is conducted to receive the appropriate materials and assembly Final Project FMD 200 Online Due Sunday of Week 8 by 11:59pm EST 230 Points For your final project you must choose a garment from your own clothes that you will analyze, we won’t be tearing it apart. Your garment must be woven and have at least 6 main pieces to it (hint- a shirt will usually have 4: front, back, right sleeve, left sleeve, and neckband). It should not have any sort of lining, you want to be able to see all of the seams inside. It should be detailed and interesting. It must still have all of the inside tags including brand, size, and care instructions. During Week 6 you will need to send a picture and explanation of the garment you are planning to use, send a picture of the front, back, and inside of the garment. With your pictures include a short explanation about why you think it will be a good garment to analyze for this project. Live Chats can also be scheduled this week if the student would prefer. You will be analyzing the design and thinking through the production process to determine what went into developing the garment. Many of the instructions are similar to the assignments that have been done throughout the course, you will want to reference those as you prepare this assignment. Once you have chosen your garment you will first need to create a powerpoint that contains the following items. 1. Take a picture of the front, back and inside of the garment. 2. Look up the brand and determine what price range it would have originally been sold, also look up the RN and write down that information. Add a picture of the brand label. 3. Analyze the outside and the fit, and describe the type of ease. 4. Document all of the design details, include a picture of each. 5. Identify and categorize all of the seams and stitches on the garment. Similar to the seam assignment, put a picture of the whole garment with an arrow pointing to the seam being shown. Document each seam by taking a picture of the front and back and label the type of stitch and the type of seam. 6. Document any other items like closures, pockets, studs, or interfacing and make note of where they are. 7. Document three surprising things you learned about your garment (you will want to complete this after writing the paper) 8. Discuss the quality of the garment and what could be improved to increase the quality level. (you will want to complete this after writing the paper) Write a 4-5 page paper (double spaced, one inch margins) describing the production process of the garment. Use the chapters in the book as references for what should be included, there should be at least one item from each chapter recognized, as a minimum, refer to the rubric for more specifics of what should be included from each chapter. Discuss the end use of the garment and the level of quality present and the clues that reveal the level of quality. When referencing a section from the book, be sure to use APA in-text citations and include the Textbook in the Bibliography. You will also need to find three academic journal articles that would be relevant to your garment, this could be in relation to the brand, the type of clothing, the testing that would have to be done, the country it was produced in etc. These must be cited using APA style as well and should appear in the Bibliography. Present your garment by recording your powerpoint using Panopto and discuss what you found out about the garment. This should be about 3 minutes in length. You will be required to utilize the Writing Center to aid in the development of your paper. Links for this are posted on Blackboard, students can use either the Global Campus Writing Center, or schedule an appointment with the on-campus writing center. You must allow enough time for this, you must submit something or schedule an appointment by the end of Week 7. You must also obtain proof of using their service, a screenshot or picture of the Writing Center feedback will suffice., you will attach this as a file when submitting your final project assignment. Consult the Rubric attached for a detailed breakdown of the points, this project is worth 230 points.
