I need an internal analysis of Inno-bus company. This company will go to bankruptcy.
InnoBus Ltd. Is a Canadian company producing city buses for the Canadian and US marketsThe company is in serious trouble, expecting major losses during the current year. The bank is asking for immediate payment of all outstanding debts. The market is declining and competition is fierce. Briefly put, the company might very well be facing bankruptcy soon. The owner of the company, Mr. de Koning, has hired you as a consultant
I have information of pdf file and interview of managers of company. These are all my professor gave my group.
Important thing is this case happened 1998. So I cannot use after 1998. I have to think that I live in 1998.
I cannot use any references after 1998.
Among internal analysis, my part is marketing and organization and general management.
I attached file of specific things. My professor said I need to follow the model. I have to explain every specific things in the model.
Ex. Marketing- first one is firm’s products/services :breadth of product line. I need to explain and know what factors is important for problem of this company. What factors cause problem.
I need to mention and explain all factors of marketing and organization and general management.
Then I need to make ranking of all factors. I attached file as well. I also attached chapter of the book.
These are my professor’s comments:
internal analysis (leading to the identification of strengths and weaknesses)
focuses on the internal environment. After this part has been completed you should have identified all of the important factors that contributed to the situation at Innobus.
Some hints are provided with regard to topics that you might want to cover but you should approach it as if your consulting team decides what should be analyzed.



  • Organization analysis


What does the current organisation structure look like? Give an assessment of the different aspects like formalization, specialization, hierarchy of authority, centralization, professionalism and personnel ratios. Is the organization structure aligned with the external environment in which Innobus operates? How do you assess the capabilities of the top management?

  • Operations analysis


Draw a flow chart of the main processes in the organisation: the order process, the production process, the planning and scheduling process and the quality control process. Identity the main decisions and the people involved.
How is production organized? How have decisions been made in the operations decision areas of capacity strategy, supply network strategy, process technology, and development and organisation? What are the characteristics of the system? Is it optimal?
Give an overall assessment, make calculations of the use of capacity, estimate loss of production capacity for bad organisation and identify possible sources for mistakes, bad quality and waste

  • Resources


What are the main organization (tangible and intangible) resources of InnoBus? What are the (operations) capabilities? Make an assessment of their strengths and weaknesses. What is the situation for human resources? How are the operations resources aligned with the market requirements?

  • InnoBus’ value chain


Which are the organizational functions that create value to the products of InnoBus? What are the characteristics of these functions and make an assessment.

  • Financial analysis


Make an assessment of the financial position of InnoBus. Look especially at the development over the years ‘96 – ‘98 of the following items

  • Ratio debt / total assets

  • Net working capital (current assets – current liabilities)

  • Inventories

  • Cash flow from financing


Now you know the competitive position of InnoBus, its strengths and weaknesses and you have in depth knowledge of InnoBus’ internal performance you are able to list all the problems the company is facing.

  • Detailed problems



Make a list of all the problems (the root causes) InnoBus is facing. Pay special attention to problems in the market, the order backlog, marketing and sales, engineering, manufacturing, materials management, planning and scheduling, shop floor personnel and finance.
These are the comments from my professor. Don’t do other parts. My part is just marketing and organization and general management.
My professor said I cannot use internet sources. So you may search books or articles etc…
