Abstract
The environment in which the project is constructed essentially constitute both internal and external factors. Technically, project environment is one of the major influencing parameter determining the successful implementation of project or complete collapse of the project. For a project manager, he/she needs to take into consideration more than the project rather focus is to proactively manage comprehend the environment in which project will function. By the virtue of this report, I have performed extensive research on the relevance of considering environment in which the project operates order to ensure success of the project. Furthermore, I have also referred to research performed by Wideman’s paper such that relation between external variable and internal execution is well determined.
In today's cutthroat competition and high-tech world many discipline of technology as well as project management takes the ownership to make the students aware about project environment. Numerous project of infrastructure are now dedicatedly concerned about the concept of physical environment. As a manager of the project, one requires to be aware about the external environment as well as how it would affect the working and execution of the project.
Introduction
First questions that comes to one's mind when project environment needs to be considered is that when primary objective of management of project is to fulfill all the requirements with respect to scope, cost, quality along the schedule determined then what is the scope of project environment in this. The fact of the matter is critical goal is that project is successfully completed and it can be only achieved if the project environment is not neglected in the process. With reference to "Managing the Project Environment " (Wideman, R.M, 1990) quote explains the relevance of environment for successful project handling "The art of directing and coordinating human and material resources throughout the life of a project by using modern management techniques to achieve predetermined objectives of scope, quality, time, cost". Therefore the level of success of the project is contingent on the fact that output is produced consistently even if the external factors are changed in the process as well as all the stakeholders associated with the project like customers, employees, leadership, environment are properly satisfied.
