I have to do a case study assignment which is : (XZ, a forty-three year old man, previously healthy, was complaining of polydipsia, polyuria and nocturia during the previous 3 months. Diabetes Mellitus was excluded. Water deprivation test was positive for central diabetes insipidus (DI). For your written assignment, describe the: 1. aetiology and pathophysiology of DI. 2. differentiating central and nephrogenic DI, and the diagnostic tools available. 3.You are also required to discuss the physiological functions of endogenous hormone vasopressin, and agents available for the treatment of DI, with reference to the pharmacological basis for their therapeutic effects. 4.
