I have attached the following for use when completing the assignment:

-Project Charter

-Rubric

-Template for the Work Breakdown (this is the assignment to complete using the project charter)

In Module 1 you chose a project and completed a Project Charter. Now you will develop a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for that project with four to five (4-5) high level tasks and an average of four to five (4-5) sub-tasks for each high level task

.

You must have a minimum of 20 tasks.Note:It is not necessary to have an equal number of sub-tasks for each high level task, but you are required to have a minimum of 20 tasks in total.

  1. Download and save theWBS Template. The template has two tabs - one for the Graphical WBS and one for the WBS Dictionary.Note:You may use a design of your own choosing, but it must contain both the Graphical WBS and the WBS Dictionary.

  2. On the Graphical WBS tab, enter the identified high level tasks and sub-tasks. Be sure to include:

    • Task Name

    • WBS Code

  3. On the WBS Dictionary tab, based on your identified tasks, create your WBS Dictionary. Be sure to include:

    • Level

    • WBS Code

    • Task Name

    • Definition

The project objectives help in identifying what all areas should be targeted to ensure the success of the project, also the project objectives should be flexible to make applicable changes if required during the project development. The project objectives are in line with the company policies which are used to develop the project and complete the expansion. This project is undertaken as part of the expansion project which the company is undertaking for serving additional customers. · Identify the best location in California to open the restaurant · Decide on whether to rent the place or buy the land · Complete the list of required personnel for the development of the restaurant · Complete the development of the restaurant within 6 months · Make the restaurant functional 190 days from now The business objectives for the project are directly related to the expansion and revenue growth plan which the management has undertaken, and this is in line with the capital expenditure target that the company has taken for the current year. · Design the restaurant at a new place while keeping the theme and the interior same · Complete the development in the next 6 months, so that restaurant can be made operational in July 2023 · Make sure to use sustainable development while developing the restaurant · The restaurant should be designed to have a seating capacity of 100 people with a bar, and beverage counter associated with it The success criteria of the project will be measured by looking after the project and if the completion is within the timelines and the budget. The project requirements are essential as it helps in identifying which boxes to be ticked for the project to be a continued success. The project must meet the following list of requirements to achieve the success we are expecting the project to get: · The location of the restaurant must be finalized after a survey to find out the best location · The restaurant must be opened in the July month next year which marks the beginning of the holidays as this will increase traction and more customer reach The requirements list follows agile mode which means that more requirements can be added after the project brainstorming and the project approval. Requirements must be met in a timely manner to make sure that the project is a huge success for the company, and if by any chance the project is updated or is not completed within the time the requirements must be updated and the timelines for the same have to be updated. Constraints The project is similar to what the company has undertaken in the past as well but because every project has constraints this project has certain constraints too which are: · The restaurant should be at a location in California which is not far away from the warehouse to make sure the items can be delivered fresh · The restaurant must be built according to the budget that has been described for the project · The restaurant development must be completed within the timeline to ensure a timely opening of the restaurant to get the holiday revenue · The required resources from inside the team and from outside the team should be allocated to the project Assumptions Assumptions were made for the project because not all the factors are known completely in isolation and therefore some assumptions must be made to see what the project’s success options and the failure probability are. The assumption list which is below is made after consulting with all the stakeholders who then agreed that the following assumptions are correct. The list of assumptions for the current project is as follows: · The project will be completed in the budget which will ensure that the capital expenditure budget of the company will not exceed · The project purpose will be communicated to all the stakeholders and the entire company before the launch · Additional resources will be provided as and when required Preliminary Scope Statement The ‘FOODZ IN CALIFORNIA’ will be initiated with the creation of the design, proposal, approvals and then the final delivery which will be the development of the project. All the required resources will be managed by a separate team which will be created to concentrate on the opening of the restaurant within the stipulated timeline. The project will be independent, and the ongoing operations will be going on as is. The funding for the project will be managed by the central team which looks after the capital expenditure for the company also this will be approved each time an additional fund will be required over and above the allocated budget. Any additional funding will be approved by the accounting head first before the allocation of that funding. The project will conclude when the final development of the restaurant is completed and the opening is done, also this will be allocated with a report which will be used to mark the completion of the project. Risks The risk associated with the projects are many, and a risk mitigation strategy will be used at the time of the development of the project to ensure that the project is not hampered because of the risks. The risk mitigation will also ensure that the overall impact will be minimized. The risks which are identified for the project are as follows: · Decrease in sales at other outlets because of a potential outlet nearby · Environmental threat · Political impacts on the development of the restaurant The risks which have been identified must be measured and the mitigation strategy for the same should be identified as through the mitigation the impact of the risks can be reduced which will help in ensuring that the project is completed timely.
