Answer the questions below using the CHF Data.xlsx Excel File posted in Moodle. Perform all tests using functions built into Excel. 1.Descriptive Statistics – Place your answers in the ‘Descriptive Statistics’ tab in the Excel file provided 1. Compute the appropriate descriptive statistics to measure the Measures of Central Tendency and Measures of Variance for the TotChg data element in the CHF dataset. Be sure to compute the appropriate statistics based on the data type. Compute the measures using all the data. 1. Then exclude the highest value and compute all the measures without that value. For each measure, explain what changed when the highest value was excluded. Describe why these changes occurred. 2. Two Sample T-Test - Test the hypothesis that charges for patients with MS-DRG 291 are different for men and women. Compute the test using Excel. Place your answer in the ‘Two Sample T-Test’ tab in the Excel file provided. Place your answer to the following questions within this Word document. State the null and alternative hypotheses and designate the alpha prior to performing the test. Prior to running the two-sample t-test you should first run a test to determine if equal variances is a good assumption. Your null and alternative hypothesis and the t-test you run should correspond with the findings of this ‘assumption test’. Describe what test you need to run and why. From the output of the two-sample t-test, there are two ways to determine if the null hypothesis should be rejected. Describe both ways this can be determined.
