The current essay focuses on the reason for these trainee teachers to learn about Child Development Theorists, so that they can handle those children ideally. My Opinion on Studying Child Development Theorists for Trainee Teachers with Rationale
I believe that while studying the teaching courses, every aspiring teacher student should understand the exact knowledge imparted by the famous child development theorists. It is so because children can be very giddy and unpredictable in their behavior during their growing years. As an outcome of this, they might show some actions, which might be beyond comprehension for their teachers and family members (Packer, 2021). Hence, if the teachers know about the theories propounded by these theorists beforehand, while they are seeking teaching knowledge themselves, then later, they would not have to face any problem while handling these children. When a teacher acknowledges how children develop, they will try to separate the child from the behavior that harming the. Observing at how children grow with the development of different stages, will also help a teacher to see the bigger picture of education. Therefore, studying the childe development theories would provide a teacher the best foundation for a group of children and also provides the best starting point for planning for a new child.
As stated by Martin and Collie, (2019), after learning the child development theories a teacher can easily understand a child’s requirement, their inner thought, moral values, social values and many more and can develop a trustworthy bonding with them. There are several popular theorists who really motivates and beautify the bonding between a teacher and highlighted the importance of the child development theory.
Some of the best and well-known child development theorists are Lev Vygotsky, Jean Piaget, B. F. Lev Vygotsky introduced the concept of social constructivism which is based on the idea that cognitive functions are the products of social interactions. As stated by Taber, (2020) he emphasized the collaborative system of learning by the construction of knowledge through social negotiation. Jean Piaget’s theory on the other hand focuses mainly on the cognitive development of a child which move through four different stages of mental mind. His theories focus on the understanding of how the child...
