Human Body: A Well Regulated System
1. Know the anatomy of the body systems (Vascular, Nervous, Digestiv
e, Excretory,
Endocrine, and Skin) and how each contributes to maintaining a stable internal
environment.
Answer 1.
‘Homeostasis’ might be explained as; an environment which is able to assist the
continuous survival of cell (s). In fact, it is compulsory to preserve homeostasis inside the body
and it can be achieved by means of maintenance of appropriate temperature and pH (acidity) etc.
circumstances.
Homeostasis can be of two types: positive and negative. Positive feedback induces a
procedure whereas; negative feedback can repress it. Both mechanisms are contradictory to each
other but, are equally important regarding the regulation of internal environment of body which
if left unregulated then can prove to be fatal.
Various systems of body work together to preserve the homeostasis for instance;
Circulatory, Vascular, Nervous, Digestive, Excretory, Endocrine, and Integumentary systems.
How these systems contribute in the preservation of homeostasis it might be understood as
follows:
The cardiovascular system ensures the supply of oxygen and glucose to the central
nervous system which might be termed as the control center for all of the homeostatic processes
that occur in body. In the absence of cardiovascular activities, it cannot work and thus; there
could be observed a negative impact on homeostasis.
