I don’t think so. I concede that there are relatively well-adjusted psychologists who are interested in studying personality, possibly including their own. But insofar as Freud’s intense selfanalysis is concerned, I doubt if he would have undertaken this diffi cult and painful task had he not been affl icted with psychological problems that he needed to resolve.
