Art and culture, though subjective from place to place have one thing in common. They are accepted, enjoyed and appreciated by people all over the globe. The inclination of humans towards art and culture dates back to the beginning of humankind. With the passage of years, many artists have contributed to the development of art all over the world and Vincent Van Gogh is one such artist whose contribution to art cannot be denied. His style and concepts remain revolutionary until today and a museum that has a collection of most of Van Gogh’s unsold works is Van Gogh Museum. This Dutch museum is home to some of the artist’s masterpieces that do not fail to mesmerize the visitors even to this day. Out of the numerous paintings contained in the museum, the one that I found to be exceptionally extraordinary was the self-portrait that was painted by the artist in February in the year 1888.
     Vincent Willem van Gogh lived from 30 March 1853 to 29 July 1890. He was a Dutch artist who created revolutionary art pieces and through the strokes of his brush paved the way for his immortality with mesmerizing concepts and thoughts behind his artwork.
