I currently work in special education as an aide in the mild and moderate setting. We have several students on all different levels. I have been going into a first-grade class to do my observations and most of the students are performing below level. They have been doing one on one time while the other students are working, and they have started pulling students out for intervention reading groups. The teacher is so positive and tries a lot of strategies with them to get them to get to their level and if it doesn’t work, they try something else. I have noticed a lot of students because of covid are very low and have a hard time in handwriting and most of these students were online students.
