The regression analysis to predict y given x without an intercept is carried out in R and
the output is given below:
From
the above output, the slope of the independent variable is found to be 1.9939 and its
corresponding standard error is 0.1065. This indicates that, when the value of the independent
variable increases by one unit, then there will be a corresponding increase of 1.9939 units in y.
the t test statistic for significance of slope for the variable X is found to be 18.73 and its
corresponding p – value is 0.000. Since this p – value is less than 0.05, we can say that the
independent variable X is a significant predictor of the dependent variable Y
The regression analysis to predict x given y without an intercept is carried out in R and
the output is given below:
From the above output, the slope of the independent variable is found to be 0.39111 and
its corresponding standard error is 0.02089. This indicates that, when the value of the
independent variable increases by one unit, then there will be a corresponding increase of 1.9939
units in y. the t test statistic for significance of slope for the variable y is found to be 18.73 and
