Introduction
This project requires the re-building of the website, and the link of the website is https://www.bonessmotormuseum.co.uk/. The website needs a lot of changes which includes changing the logo of the website, also the header part of the website also needs to be changed with lots of other small but important changes. The need to construct the website is because the user experience is not the latest and the website looks like it was made in 1990 and has not been changed since then. It is important to change the appearance of the website to attract customers and increase profits.
Aim
The aim is to reconstruct the website and give it a modern look like the latest websites to make it user-friendly and provide services in a better way.
Website Requirements
The website needs a lot of requirements to change its appearance and user experience domain. However, there are several steps or parts in which it will be done, in it the first requirement is the functional requirement and the second one is the non-functional requirement. The functional requirement means the behavior of the website, the things that will change the behavior and performance of the websites will come under the functional requirements. Whereas, the non-functional requirement means how these behaviors will be changed and what kind of design will help in that. The requirements are explained in detail below:
Functional Requirements
· The header of the website needs to be changed, only the logo should be included and fewer headlines should be there. The navigation bar also needs some modifications and all the tabs mentioned in it should have a long list of the services provided and the products involved in it.
· The navigation menu of the website should have clear icons with better color contrast.
· The video section of the website should show a small portion of the video when the cursor is hovered over it, making it easy for the users to know what could be the material or content of that particular video (Lientz and Rea, 2016).
· The content of the website should be evenly distributed for the user to understand it easily. The parts should be systematically partitioned and each topic or news related to the website should be clear and user-friendly.
· The logo should be at the top at all times, even when the user is deep inside the website and the navigation menu should not cover the content when scrolled.
· Relevant information such as a link to social accounts, contact information, copyright information should be displayed in the footer section.
· The website should support in mobile format as well and the logo and website content should be clear and words should not be cut into half in the mobile format (Ivanova and Vītols, 2017).
· The computational requirements of the website should be minimal and accessible by users with any type of systems and should not consume much ram and bandwidth of the user and the client.
· It is important that the website should have a search option and the users can type in whatever they need to search in it. If the user searches something which is not in the niche of the website then, it should be able to check the error and inform them about the same.
· It should be able to support all the latest and the best web browsers as well as the oldest ones without any glitch.
· While loading any part, the website should show any sign which would tell the user that the website is loading and they are supposed to wait for the website to load completely.
Minimum System requirements
· Minimum hardware requirements for the website should be 350 MB hard disk space, Pentium 4 CPU with 3.2GHz frequency, 512 MB RAM required.
· The redesigning of the website should be done using the latest available technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, MySQL, and Hadoop for database and CSS for designing and styling the website (Meland et al. 2018)
Security Requirements
· It is important for the website to be hosted in either a new domain or the already existing domain, it will be much useful if the website uses multiple domains for future purposes.
· A security certificate should be included on the website, the use of this certificate would be to indicate the rightful owner of the company. The security certificate also indicates that the communication between the website and the user is encrypted and cannot be used by any third party.
· ISO 17799 and 27001 standards should be followed by the new website.
· The confidentiality and the integrity of the users should be protected by the website as all these are the sensitive information of the users.
· DDoS attacks are the ones which cause the websites to slow down and make it difficult for the users to use the websites. So, it is important to protect the website from these types of attacks (Santanna et al. 2015).
· Security measures should be taken so that the hackers cannot breach into the website and steal the sensitive information about the users.
Non-Functional Requirements
· The font style, font size and type set of the website should be taken into consideration very deeply and used accordingly.
· The loading of the web page should be quick and should be under 5-7 seconds.
· The color scheme of the website should be consistent and should be in accordance with the theme and brand of the company (Mahmoud and Williams, 2016).
· The layout of the website should be consistent, no matter how deep the user is the website layout should not be changed at all.
· It is important to group the contents of the website in a fair manner and things like heading and subheading should be used to organize the content. The...
