While diagrams, tables and figures do not contribute to the word count, they should not be used to extend the word count. IMPACT OF COVID 19 ON SUPPLY CHAIN
Executive Summary
CEVA Logistics is one of the leading competitors in the supply chain management industry in today's business world. It is a global network that is expert in integrating preferential relationships with its customers through innovations and has performed effectively in the difficult time of COVID-19. CEVA Logistics has functioned effectively and there was no limitation in interstate transport and therefore there was no impact on freight transport on roads across borders. However, there was a reduced operation in the rural and remote areas of Australia. According to the reports of the company, officials are noted that their ocean operations were fully functional in this period of 2019-20. This is reflected in their overall increase in the volumes traded in the ocean. Although there was the restriction of air freight globally it maintained normal on road transport effectively. In this assignment, we dealt with the impact of c
ovid-19 on the supply chain management which affected the performance of the CEVA Logistics. However, we have noticed with for the quantitative analysis that the annual revenue for the period 2020 has increased. This was due to the increase in the dependency of the companies on the CEVA logistics for the transportation of their products through efficient supply chain management. The analysis also revealed the fact that in these months of pandemic there were disruptions in the supply chain and led to the accumulation of inventory for a short time. However, CEVA Logistics operates in a business-to-consumer field that increased its demand from Australian companies. Hence the Australian companies had to depend on logistic industries for the smooth supply chain management. Further, we have also conducted a SWOT and PESTEL analysis for the CEVA logistics industry for analyzing the internal and the external marketing strategies of the same. The overall economy is facing disruption and losses owing to the COVID-19 crisis.

Context
Modern business has become much more dynamic. Business management has been focused on inter-connected networks in modern times. Business requires a process of integrating the supply and demand management within the organization and across the various channels that are working together to make the function efficient and effective. It is a crucial aspect for a business organization that helps the organization to anticipate problems dynamically adjust the price levels and improvise the inventory and another fulfillment purpose of the business. According to the researchers, logistics is a prominent subset of supply chain management. Logistics plays an eminent role in business management by ensuring a smooth supply chain. Rather we can depict Logistics as a tool of the supply chain. It is quite evident that the success of a business will profoundly depend upon the integration of the company's networks and the business relationships that occur due to the logistics and supply chain management of the organization. With deeper intrusion about the fact, it is evident that supply chain management is a network of multiple businesses and relationships that offer to capture the intra and intercompany integration and management. Studies and researchers concluded that supply chain management is nothing but the integration of the key business processes by which it provides products services and information that as value to the customers and the stakeholders (Verhoeven, Sinn &Herden, 2018).
In this context, a project is prepared to analyze the working aspects of a logistics company and analyze its functioning accordingly. The company that is considered for carrying out this work is CEVA Logistics. It is the global supply chain and logistics in contract logistics and freight management. The head office can be located in Switzerland and it came into existence in the year 2007 as a merger of the EGL Eagle Global Logistics as well as TNT Logistics. This firm also tends to serve various industries and it consists of the following such as e-commerce, automotive, healthcare, etc. At present, this firm had more than 60,000 workers working in the 6 regions and they are also operating from more than 160 countries. Supply chain solution is regarded as one of the most vital aspects concerning the business operations in Australia and the country has built and it is also building their economy via more safe and also effective supply chains. Furthermore, the company is also the world leader in logistics and shipping as well as together they also tend to provide end-to-end supply chain solutions and services.
However, these two years have been one of the most unfortunate periods that have witnessed a poor economic performance in the economy almost every sector of the economy. Logistic firms are mostly involved in the movement, storage, and flow of goods and hence are directly affected by the covid-19 pandemic. Logistics being an important part of the supply chain within the domestic boundaries and across the international borders, it facilitates trade and commerce thereby lubricates the business (Jabbour et al., 2019). This pandemic has disrupted the entire situation and thereby affected competitiveness economic growth and job creation. However, an important point to be noted here is that the ongoing covid-19 pandemic has witnessed an exponential growth of movements of the parcel including e-commerce deliveries. But the dangerous pandemic has affected the global supply chain of movement of goods across the international borders. Owing to the pandemic a series of strategies were undertaken by the states and authorities to curb the spread of this deadly virus (Wieland, 2021).This has negatively impacted the easy movement of supplies and the products by which it affected the cross-country production also. However, CEVA Logistics has taken up essential strategies to counter the ill effects that they were facing owing to the pandemic.
One of the main issues that are observed in this company is the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the supply chain concerning the region of Australia (Hugos, 2018). When the COVID-19 took place it was observed that there was significant disruption via the pandemic driving the companies in Australia for making the supply chain more collaborative, resilient as well as networked. Therefore, the pandemic can be regarded as the main reason via which the problem took place (Dixit & North, 2020).
Aim of the Project
As mentioned above in the context segment how profoundly the spread of pandemic has impacted the functioning of CEVA Logistics and thereby affecting the supply chain of the entire global business management. The project will also elaborate on the methodologies and theories associated with supply chain management affecting the smooth functioning of the business in Australia. Contemplating the issues with existing literature reviews will help in building a strong compilation of the impact of covid-19 in the supply chain in Australia and more particularly on the CEVA Logistics (Belhadi et al., 2021).One of the main aims of this capstone project is to highlight the impact of COVID-19 in the supply chain in Australia and also its impact on CEVA Logistics. On the other hand, the project also intends to achieve the negative and positive (if any) impact in the supply chain and recommendations to improve this situation.
This project shall also focus on the statistical and quantitative analysis of the facts and figures of the particular company. From these figures and statistics, a robust analysis shall be presented to describe the essential changes that have taken place which affected the performance of this logistics company in the present scenario. This project also presents a segment that provides viable recommendations owing to the series of disruptions or alterations in the effective trend of the business.
Theoretical Overview
Supply chain management has been recognized as one of the important aspects that have viable strategic importance in purchasing and supplying activities for the long-term growth of the organization. It has been one of the important issues that the researchers are dealing with and there is numerous literature that came up owing to the importance of supply chain management (Guan et al., 2020).
The number of authors has exhorted the theoretical dearth by characterizing supply chain management as an essential department for a successful business. However, there are variations among the authors of supply chain management who demonstrate several theoretical and conceptualized arguments regarding supply chain management (Ho, 2020). In most cases, it has been argued that theories of this particular context represent the keystone of knowledge production and hence attention needs to be paid to the application and development of an effective supply chain. In the present context, the practice of the supply chain has been used as a performance management tool to expand the business activities of an organization (Ben-Daya, Hassini&Bahroun, 2019).
Literature also confirms that monitoring and improvement of the performance of supply chain activities have become a complex task that itself includes numerous management practices like identifying measures that need to be taken, defining targets of the organization, planning for the future activities, communicating about the supply of products and services, monitoring the movement of products and services reporting the essential facts and figures and giving feedback about the networks and relationships (Govindan et al., 2018).
According to some theoretical evidence, it is confirming that strategic supply chain management can help in excelling in terms of speed quality cost and flexibility of a business organization. In recent times supply...
