Ours is the age of Science and all around us are the favours of science and the long results of time. Today, we depend on our existence on the innumerable aspects of modern science and communication and that brings us to the internet.
Ever since the internet was introduced, it's mind boggling as to how much it has grown to a point one has complete control over one's business.
Businesses are mostly ported online with eCommerce enabling manufacturers to directly sell to their end customers without the so called "mid-man".
Enabling one to directly access customer data and grants the user complete control over one's brand, It's associated engagement and leap past the opportunities and expand into the market.
Applications are being developed for ease of access and websites scaled to make sure it has maximum reach. The importance of E-commerce was all very visible during the pandemic which gave rise to demand resulting in the sudden boom in online traffic.

The business model and the various strategies introduced were intriguing and was where I was made to realise the importance to the concept of demand and supply with its accompanying competition, market opportunity and team management.
Within the bounds of the 8 key elements of the business model, I have identified the attribute of "knowing the target audience" as the most important of them all.
A product's value proposition and its target audience are key concepts towards creating demand and supply.
Firm Value chains are what drives the output and is crucial to attain greater operational efficiencies and low cost prices adding to the value proposition of the product, thereby attracting customers.
The use of E-commerce overall reduces such transactional cost and enables precise coordination of steps in the chain.

The history and evolution of the Internet with the conception of the World Wide Web (www) and other biassed services were initially discussed. Fascinating how commercialization took over and expanded the internet as we know today.
Key Technical concepts as to how internet traffic is generated and routed were brought to light. The most important of which were packet switching, IP protocols and Client Computing.
Several Internet protocols with it's OSI layer model coupled with the addressing system namely IPv4 and IPv6 were discussed and it was made understood how every computer across the globe has a unique IPv4 IP address accompanied by a MAC address.
The sudden transition from Bulky Personal Computers to handheld Modern smartphones and tablets capable of accessing the internet had to be accounted for resulting in more traffic, primarily from the said modern handhelds.
Modern day browsers played an important role in internet consumption and was later partially replaced with Android and iOS applications.
However, not all e-commerce platforms have applications and are to be accessed via a browser.
Other HTML5 and CSS pages can only also be accessed via a browser.
Different generations of wireless technologies like 3G, 4G LTE and 5G with its accompanying bandwidth speeds and transfer rates are quite an accomplishment.
