Unit 3 [GB590: Ethics in Business and Society] Assignment: Stressful Strategy In this Assignment, you will be assessed by the following outcome: GB590-2: Evaluate deontology (responsibility) theories within discrimination and workplace issues. If you have not yet taken the Ethical Lens Inventory in the EthicsGame, you are strongly encouraged to do so. It will enhance your comprehension related to the cases presented, and help you better understand your own preferences when making ethically-based decisions. Hot Topics Engagement Rubrics The purpose of the Hot Topics Simulation is to help you use the perspectives and tools of the four ethical lenses in your decision making. You will review the "Stressful Strategy" case and choose the best values in tension and the primary stakeholders. You will decide the ethical responsibilities necessary based on the codes of ethics and how each stakeholder will be affected. Finally, you will provide your final decision based on the ethical lenses presented. Game Points Each ethical dilemma has eight different items that are scored, for a total of 14,500 points per ethical dilemma. Each of the decision points has been broken out in the game grading so you can see where you may have had difficulty. For the dilemma called “Stressful Strategy” (using the Rights/Responsibilities and Results Ethical Lens) the eight decision points are as follows: (1) Issues; (2) Stakeholders; (3) Duties; (4) Choosing the best option for the Rights/Responsibilities Lens; (5) Stakeholder Impact; (6) Stakeholder Criteria for Happiness; (7) Choosing the best option for the Results Lens; (8) Risks and Repercussions. Content/Analysis Possible Earned Simulation total 14,500 Assignment total possible 150 0 Your professor will divide the points you earn in the simulation by the total points possible, or 14,500. That percentage will be multiplied by 150 to calculate your grade. Example: Student earned 13,400 points in the simulation. 13,400 divided by 14,500 equals 92%. 92% of 150 equals 138.
