Economic impact of pollution on Environment
There is widespread economic impact of pollution on environment, for instance, pollution negatively affects whole Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The loss in GDP occurs due to high cost of welfare and loss of labour on account of different forms of pollution. As a major measure of controlling pollution, government announces cracking down or closing down polluting industries which leads to economic losses. Also, pollution increases cases of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases which increases health costs, and, on the other hand, reduces crop yields and negatively affects biodiversity and ecosystems. The increased pollution is said to have long term economic impact on environment. There are bad or negative impacts of pollution on health and is quite evident and understood (Nutrient Pollution, 2020).
