HSLO Upconverter Design a HSLO upconverting receiver that converts an RF signal centered in the 100–200 MHz range to a 450 MHz IF. Your circuit should contain two filters, a mixer and a local oscillator. The bandwidth of the IF filter is 30 MHz, and the signal bandwidth is 1 MHz (see Figure 10-70).
Derive the frequency allocation plan and include
• Filter frequencies
• RFs
• LO frequencies
• Image frequencies
Show the orientation of the image and LO frequency ranges (i.e., if the receiver tunes from 100 MHz up to 200 MHz, does the LO frequency increase or decrease?). Similarly, if the receiver tunes from 100 to 200 MHz, does the image frequency increase or decrease?
