Introduction
The appropriate kind of education is important in looking at childhood environment. It is essential that childhood education be according to the fundamentals of Christian faith, so that children can have access to their faith and have a modern education at the same time. Faith-based education is imperative to the fulfilment of the well-rounded nature of the child, and is essential in ensuring that the organization is able to cater to the demands of the parents as well (Dweck and Bempechat 2017). A spiritual bond and a knowledge of God would only help in enhancing the humanity of the child, which is essential for the future of the child as well.
The following paper looks at how a Christian foundation of education can impact the way that students are taught in an early childhood learning environment, It will also look at how religious education should be designed, framed and assessed in early childhood.
Christian Education
Christian education can have a significant impact on the way that people eventually go on to teach. The Bible places high value on education, and the impartation of knowledge about God and his creation to everyone, but especially young children. In many ways, it can completely change the way that human beings can behave (Turpin 2017). There are significant lessons that Christian education can teach when it comes to passing on the beacon of information to children in a teaching environment.
The first lesson would be that of patience. There are many verses in the Bible, such as Peter 3:8, or James 5:8, which talk of patience and the importance of being patient in the world. Many teachers who do not have a Christina background do not understand the importance of being patient with the children. Small children sometimes take time to do the things that are needed of them, and it is essential that the teacher is able to explain everything to them patiently (Linhart, 2016). Dealing with children requires patience, since they may ask the same question over and over again. The patience that would be required to talk to children and interact with them, as well as be able to impart an education that is valuable would be the main aim. Children who are young are extremely impressionable, and by having patience, which is what is taught to most teachers who have had a Christian education, they would be able to handle and deal with the students better as well.
This second lesson would be that Christian education could help in enhancing the well-being of the students. At the very heart of Christian faith, people are taught to love God and their neighbour. This teaches young people to be loving and caring citizens and to show kindness and respect. Shared values help students’ bond with their peers to create genuine and long-lasting friendships. Students who have been taught in a Christian manner have been known to look out for one another and call on each other for advice (Goldie 2016). This greatly enhances the students’ wellbeing and sense of belonging within an inclusive and caring environment. Teachers who have been known to have a Christian education are able to enhance the well-being of their students. According to Albert bandura, learning is done in Children by imitating the adults around them. For primary children, they come most often in contact with their parents and their teachers (Amos and Pettegree 2017). Thus, by imitating Christian values, which are of patience, love and tolerance, teachers are able to help them inculcate these values as well, which is essential to the future of the children. Thus, Christian education could significantly help in enhancing the well-being of the students.
One of the key phrases of Christian education would be to enhance the moral character of the student. One of the key phrases that most Christians look at is to “Treat others how you wish to be treated”. By having teachers who have had a Christian education, they would be able to teach the children the same message (Christian 2018). Children would be taught from a young age to increase their own personal standards and morals, and thus, become better people. All in all, Christianity outfits our understudies with the proper exercises and instruments to understand...
