Introduction
Cultural influence is vast on public heath care affecting not only our ideas of illness, health and death but also affects our beliefs about why diseases occur in a certain population, creates a bias in a community and also changes the approach of healthcare promotion within communities. Pain and disease is expressed and experienced in many different ways depending on the population and there remains a gap in services provided by the healthcare professionals and the patients. Both the professionals, who are associated with healthcare and the care users, who avail healthcare services are biased in terms of their cultures are concerned. In most countries, the typical beliefs of the historically dominant cultures have influenced the healthcare system. Therefore, it depends on the healthcare workers to be unbiased and unprejudiced while providing services.
Reflection
Biasness towards culture often develops illogical misconception about health related perceptions as well as preferences in people. It depends upon the cultural competence of healthcare workers to be aware of and to negotiate such differences. It is such perspective, which allows heath care providers to have an idea about various beliefs and sources of such bias, and to care specifically for the members of such communities incorporating new awareness into their diagnosis and treatment plans.  Individual values, behaviors and beliefs, about health and general well-being are under the influence of ethnicity and race various other parameters like, nationality, gender, socioeconomic and linguistic status, preferences for gender and regulate physical as well as psychological health perceptions.
