Managers at resorts, hotels, motels or spas (or hotel managers) are responsible for guiding the daily work of their individual agencies. Specific tasks may include setting a house price, resolving customer’s complaints, managing facility income, and training employees. Hotel managers are responsible for advertising and marketing to bring business to their resorts and spas. Resort management is part of the hotel and accommodation industry. There are often different types of managers in hotels or resorts, including managers who supervise food and beverage, maintenance and activity departments (Bennett, King & Milner, 2004). In a large resort, the general manager may be responsible for all business while supervising other various managers, such as the front office. Resort and spa management usually involves long hour work, including nights, weekends as well as holidays. Services and customers who are looking for a perfect vacation experience might become exhausted and, like most administration positions, the huge pressure to completely meet strategic and financial goals. The study included the history and development of the resort and spa sector and its impact on the overall economy of the host site. Revenues in the health and wellness spa industry have increased over the past five years. Demand for industry services has increased due to increasing attention to health and appearance. The spa has been welcomed by a wider customer base, including men, business users, couples, and families. In the five years to 2017-18, industry revenue is expected to grow by 3.3% year-on-year to $438.2 million. This includes a rebound in consumer confidence driving a 3.5% increase in expected revenue for 2017-18.
