Homework 2 Complete this homework in a Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) document and submit electronically in the Homework 2 assignment on Canvas. For this homework assignment, you will need to write up an executive summary, as would be included in a business plan, about a farm business. The farm does not need to be real (but can be). Consider this to be a creative writing assignment. For full credit your executive summary needs to adequately address: 1. the people involved, 2. the production opportunity, 3. context on the type of production and market potential, and 4. identify both risks and rewards associated with the execution of the plan. Business suggestions: For choosing the type of business consider identifying first if the farm is livestock, grain, fruit, nut, or some combination. Is the plan to enter a market or to make a vertical or horizontal move in the value chain? Is the opportunity to serve a niche market like organic or non-GMO or is it to change means of production such as to use conservation tillage or robotic milkers. Your grade will not be based on the type of farm or how good your storyline is, just whether or not you are able to address each of the preceding factors correctly.
