Introduction

Same is in the case of hotel industry, where a devoted cook, ideal waiters and pleasant attendants who are eager to serve the customer by going extra mile can be termed as a key asset in increasing business, growth and profit of the restaurant. This essay covers the basic key points which include, the ways in which employee engagement and citizenship behaviour could be enhanced within the restaurant, and the ways dysfunctional behaviours could be minimised. Enhancement of Employee Engagement and Organisational Citizenship
It has been certified over the years that employees are the key assets of an organisation that employees who are committed, and are satisfied with their job tends on increasing the turnover rate of the organisation. As a sequence to those employees, who are not satisfied by their job or the job role did not possess any explicit or extra behaviour towards the organisation, which results to a low turnover rate (Michael, 2019). OCBs are those explicit behaviours that employees are willing to showcase despite without expecting anything in return. The important challenges faced by the management include performance evaluation of the employees; as the enhanced-employee performance, is the outcome of constant organisational enhancement. When there is a sense of citizenship amongst employees it can be often link to a strong psychological bonding to the organisation, resulting in employees that are more tend to be motivated towards making a worthy contribution to the organisation, profoundly illustrating what engagement is (HR Review, 2020).
The employee engagement and OCBs could be enhanced by Focusing on progress as nothing empowers more than progress. Managing progress manages inner work life, and exaggerates both internal motivation and external motivation to help the team. It is preceded by what is the next step; this initiates the trail for progress (Men & Yue, 2019). Ensuring what the team is focusing on the next blaze, not the end of the trail. Identifying the smaller win, once you know where your teammate is headed, identify the next small step they can take to get there, focusing on task, process or effort-related goals, channelizing the work by taking a victory lap. By figuring out how the teammate can show their progress. As it is not bragging, it is a way to honour the work and to get feedback and advice from others (Approachable Leadership, 2017).

Dysfunctional behaviour can eventually harm teamwork and degrade organisations success. As Dysfunctional, behaviour possesses a negative impact on the members of the team and as a result hampers the organisation effectiveness.
