History teaches us that theories proposed about the social world are influenced by the historical periods in which they are constructed. That being said, theories within any historical period may show great variety. For example both Marx and Comte, Weber and Durkheim shared historical periods but represented very different perspectives. What influences do you think might shape today’s new theories?
