History making is usually associated with those who have considerable power. In fact, Flacks argues that we can think of power as “the capacity to make history” (p. 5). People in powerful positions—such as political leaders and major corporate executives—make history as a routine part of their daily work lives. For them, “making life” and “making history” overlap substantially.
