Research Topic
Uncertainty intolerance leads to concern, and worry is the hallmark of anxiety. In terms of statistical anxiety, it is fair to anticipate this link to exist. In summary, concern should be linked to intolerance of uncertainty, and worry should be linked to statistical anxiety. The present research focuses on these connections.
Research Methodology
Participants
Participants in the research were drawn from a big public university's college of education. South-western university is located in the state of Texas. During the fall and spring semesters of 2010, students in three sections of a graduate-level introductory statistics course were invited to volunteer, and all consented. The majority of the 97 participants (n = 97) were white and female (66.0%). A little more than half of the pupils were master's students (53.6 percent). The vast majority of students (90.7 percent) were more than halfway through their degrees, with 61.9 percent having fewer than 33 hours left.
Instruments
The Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale-12 was used to measure intolerance of uncertainty. As a measure of students' inclination to worry, the Penn State Worry Questionnaire was used. The Statistics Anxiety Rating Scale was used to assess statistical anxiety. Scores range from 1 (no anxiety) to 5 (extreme anxiety) (high anxiety). The computation self-concept is meant to portray pupils' fear of solving arithmetic issues. The fear of asking for help as well as the fear of statistic instructors are both assessed. Higher anxiety levels are associated with higher scores on each of the subscales.
Procedure
The study enlisted the participation of graduate students in three parts of basic statistics lectures. The researcher was curious in their feelings about statistics and how they saw themselves in terms of...
