This week’s online activity will introduce you to necessary and sufficient conditions.Please review the following videos:

Then I’d like you to provide your own example of each of the following:

• 
  Something that is a necessary (but not sufficient) condition on something else.
  For example: being at least 35 years old is a necessary condition on becoming president of the U.S. – but it is not sufficient (you also have to get elected).
  
  


• 
  Something that is a sufficient (but not necessary) condition on something else.
  For example: owning a dog is a sufficient condition on owning a pet – but it is not necessary (you could own a cat instead of a dog, and still own a pet).
