Part I: Evaluation
The instructional setting is witnessing many changes and with new age requirements is it important to assess it regularly. The content teaching is required in order to support students while planning the lessons by teachers. According to Tomme-Jukevica (2019), the improvement areas are consistently reflected by scholars in their writings and noticed by seniors in workplaces because academic literacy is very much affected by explicit instruction and comprehension techniques.
Three Critical Improvements
Three critical improvements are—
(i) There should be an explicit relation between reading and writing.
(ii) The professional support should be given to teaching community to enhance their teaching practices
(iii) Absence of motivation and encouragement for students for the reading sections of the language.
Part II: Planning
Strategic Leadership Plan
It is a document, which helps in fostering the development of institutional leaders. Leadership consists of complex set of strategies, roles, goals, processes and structures to achieve the aims and improve the instructional settings.
Explicating:
The teaching methods will be analyzed based on primary instructional setting, which is established or practiced on learning platform. For example, such as teaching aids, mentoring, teaching practices, content or books referred. As per Darling-Aduana and Heinrich (2018), this will be done because each media has its own limitation and it is important to select the most effective one.
Communicating:
The feedback will be given in 360-degree format. It will ensure clearly articulated processes and following of sound principles. As informed by Sayed, Al Mushikhi and Dhanasekaran (2019), it will help in improving practices, skills, attitudes, knowledge and content.
Supporting:
The support will be provided in the form leadership framework programs and teachers will be encourages to move ahead the ladder in their professional setup. The role transition, reflection with mentor, discussion with senior officer will be done to ensure their personal growth.
Monitoring:
The performances will be monitored by close supervision, self-evaluation and random feedback from students, learner interaction and requesting voluntarily analysis of 360-degree feedback. The monitoring is required to understand the gap between capabilities and the delivery of content, as recommended by Packer et al. (2019).
Recommendations
Distributing leadership or establishing collaborative structures
In order to ensure the sustainability of the leadership plan the leadership rights will be distributed among top performers and it will be made sure that collaborative structures are established to enhance the support function (Batoon, Morales & Figueroa, 2018).
The use of institutional data and evidence-based research
With its use, the most effective outcomes of enforcing explicit reading and writing will be achieved. Based on evidence the decisions will be equipped with expert opinion and will lead to valid conclusions. It will also help to design the strategy and set metrics to measure teacher and student performance.
Timelines
The timelines are helpful in analyzing the milestones achieved and help to plan the corrective measures in case of deviations. They will be contributing in keeping a track of growth experienced and the time since when the practice is renewed.
Professional development/capacity building
The professional development will be on regular basis with coaching and mentoring initially on regular basis and later on need basis. It will help to build capacities of employees by increasing their skill level. It will prove to be disruption to normal operations of the institutions.
Part III: Reporting
