The cost of healthcare continues to increase despite most people having health insurance. Most health insurance plans require patient to pay a portion of the health care cost in the range of 20%. At times resources are wasted including human, equipment, supplies and medications that could decrease health care costs if this waste was controlled. This includes unnecessary tests being ordered. I will be doing a research on strategies to cut down health care costs related to unnecessary medical tests, while presenting patient with quality care by reducing waste in resources related to unnecessary tests.
