I explain binary system, decimal system and hexadecimal system first
In decimals 23.05 = 2(10^1) + 3(10^0)+0/10 + 5/10^2
In the same method we write binary
Say 1011.01 as 1(2^3)+0(2^2)+1(2)+1(2^0)+0/2+0/2^2 = 11.25
This is how we convert into decimal.
In hexadecimal system, we have 1,2,3,4.5,6,7,8,9,A,B,C,D,E,F
I.E. for 10 = A, 11=B …16 = F
So CA1.B22 means after point is is B22 and before point it is CA1
Using place values as we do in normal we get
C= 12 and A =10
So value
Same method i.e. for number to left we use powers in increasing from 0 to 1,2… and for right in the denominator with increasing powers as 1,2…..
