The plan incorporates identifying the existing (As-Is) situation of the processes of the case, and a few possible future states (To-Be) of these processes for improvement on efficiency and other benefits. In addition, the students need to develop an ideal processes (Should-Be) plan to best suit the organisation and the project. Furthermore, the students will provide a performance evaluation report based on the scenarios created in the “Should-Be” processes to complete this assessment. PROJ 6009 Assessment 1 Brief Nov 2019 Page 2 of 9 Instructions: In this assessment, the students will begin with identifying a process case in a professional working environment. The case can be from an organisation or a project the students participated in before. This assessment contains TWO parts. Introduction
After discussing the business process management plan of Woolworths indicating it’s as-is and to-be project process mappings, it is now vital to conduct a Business Process Improvement (BPI) exercise. BPI, in simple words can be defined as methodologies used by the enterprise leaders or the management to analyse their existing or newly incorporated processes so that scope for improvement could be determined leading to effective, efficient and accurate business processes (Nadarajah & Kadir, 2016). In this report, we shall discuss about the improvement methods and audit processes chosen by the organisation. The report shall also discuss the feasibility of the “To-Be” and provide suggestions regarding the same. Governance processes of BPM change will be established and justified. Interest of the stakeholders will also be discussed in both process and technology changes.
Description of Audit Process and Improvement Methods
The management of Woolworths must choose their audit process and improvement methods based on business objectives such as elimination of anomalies, risk control and for encouraging continuous improvement through effective suggestions. The audit processes are intended to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the value chain processes (Ishak & Nor, 2018). The audit process that must be adopted based on the inferences made from the “As-Is” and “To-Be” process mapping of Woolworths includes a business process auditor who must conduct a Post Implementation Audit (PIA), who is responsible to conduct the audit in the following manner:
1. Auditor must conduct an alignment meeting with the management and stakeholders involved.
2. Auditor must also take a feedback from some of the key employees of the Woolworths.
3. The data should be gathered based on a defined questionnaire and checklist, designed based on the business objectives and strategies focused on improvement of the business value chain (Hassan, Zailani & Hasan, 2019).
4. The auditor must also conduct a market analysis to understand the current position of the business in the market and to gather the feedback of the customers.
5. A financial audit must also be conducted to analyse the profitability of the business as well as to analyse the returns on the investments made.
6. Reports of the audit conducted must be made and presented to the management of the company along with an action plan that can help the management make necessary decisions for improvement (Raiborn, Butler, Martin & Pizzini, 2017).
7. The auditor must then also focus on the implementation of the improvement actions and must keep the BPM and the BPI processes of the business updated.
Based on this audit process it could be inferred that Woolworths can improve its operations and actions in the following areas:
1. Demand forecasting: The demand forecasting processes must be improved to ensure that the business is able to meet the changing needs and preferences of the customers. This is not only essential for a loyal customer base but is also important to gain competitive advantage in the market. This could be improved by conducting frequent market analysis to know the choices and preferences of the target market (Ferreira, Lee, & Simchi-Levi, 2016).
2. Demand and Capacity...
