The discussion post for this week consists presenting a pathology (medical condition) to your classmates.


The following are the requirements to present to your classmates.



  • You can develop a 3-5 min video presentation and post it to the class or

  • Create a minimum of 5 slides on your presentation.

  • Describe a medical condition from the pathologies on Ch. 4-10

  • Provide illustrations (visuals).

  • Provide at least one reputable resource on your references.

  • You will present to class and briefly state what you discovered about the pathology.

Integumentary system
The Integumentary system consists of the skin and the study of the different layers of the skin.
There are different m
edical pathogenic condition associated with a skin disease.
One example of a skin disease condition with its pathology is as follows:
Psoriasis (Eagle, and Finnegan).
The diagram of psoriasis is given below with the pathology:
1.Formation of red itchy dry
scales.
2. The borders are inflamed
with swelling.

Psoriasis causes the formation of dry flakes on the skin with red inflamed margins.

Nervous system
The nervous system consists of the brain and their functioning with the transmission of a signal in the neurons. The signal reaches the brain after the propagation of a signal through the spinal cord initiation from a point of origin of a stimulus.
One pathological condition in the nervous system is Bell’s palsy (Eagle, and Finnegan).
The symptoms in this pathological
conditions are:
1. Paralysis of the facial nerves.
2. The facial muscle loses its strength
and tonicity.
3. There is asymmetrical curvature of the
face leading to difficulty while
smiling.
