a. The segmentatio
n of the product will be done by the psychographic and the demographic factors, behavioral segments as well as the benefits provided to the customers (Kienzler & Kowalkowski, 2017). The customers will be divided by their age and income as it will help in generating more sales for Barilla Pasta. It has been seen that the demand for pasta is more among the youth of age between 16 to 29 years of old. These group of people will facilitate the growth of the firm by consuming more products. Therefore, the product should be enhanced based on the taste and needs of these segment of consumers. Moreover, the psychographic segmentation will be done by classifying consumers as per their attitudes, interests and their lifestyles, the product will be improved based on the taste of the customers and their growing interest towards fast food (Lees, Winchester & De Silva, 2016). The behavioral segment will help in identifying the behavior of the consumers towards Barilla Pasta, and then proper strategy should be adopted to increase the selling of the product based on summer; behavior. Next, is the benefit segmentation which will help in providing several benefits as 50% discount on the third product if purchased together (Li, Hou, Chen & Li, 2016).
b. The target market for Barilla Pasta will be the kids, men, women and the youth who are fond of fast foods. The primary target will be the people between the age group 16 to 29 years of age as it includes the college students, working men and women, and kids.
