Explain how the carbon cycle is related to energy flow in ecosystems.

As organic molecules are produced by joining and reducing carbon atoms, energy is stored in them. This is done by producers or plants. Carbon dioxide is emitted into the atmosphere and absorbed from the atmosphere when this occurs.
