The reading of this article has changed my perspective on the concept of American life
for minorities to a great extent. It did change my perception that the minorities were not well
treated in America. The fact that America is a multicultural land and has people from different
religions, different backgrounds and different languages and cultures residing in the same city,
same societies and working in same organizations, there has been a major change in America
where in all of them have been accepted with open arms.
The author describes that, " He said that one section included mosques", built by the
Islamic people who dwelled there. Attending his reading, he said, were large numbers of
Hispanic people, forty thousand of whom lived in the same city. He was not talking about a
fabled city located in some mysterious region of the world. The city he'd visited was Detroit".
This shows that America is changing.
