Social media isn’t just a cause of anguish for Human Resources, but it can be a powerful tool in business organizations today. Social media can be used to aid in recruiting, communication with employees and customers, brand image and expertise among employees. The purpose of this study is to examine the level of employee engagement and the extent to which job satisfaction, perceived organizational support, social media variety, personal use of social media, and organizational culture impact their level of engagement. Introduction Employee voice is an important theory which has been found to impact employee engagement and is quickly becoming one of the most vital workplace phenomena of our time due largely by the increases and improvements in the depth and breadth of technology. . (Miles & Muuka, 2011). Albert Hirschman (1970) defined voice as “any attempt at all to change rather than escape from an objectionable state of affairs” (Hirschman, 30). Accepting voice in light of the new media is key, especially because 54 percent of bloggers are under age 30, with 75 percent of them stating their reason for blogging as documenting and sharing personal experiences. (Miles & Muuka, 2011). We have a new generation of workers, it can be expected therefore, that blogospheres will become a mainstream business communication strategy (Richmond, 2006).
