hello.based on the previous assignment with the (orderS NO:82331 &83791) it was a rough draft that had lots of comments by the instructor that you need to read carefully, and the y were the following:******
you lost your thesis statement that we had done together. Please carefully review my feedback in the doc. I see your thoughts evolving. We need to focus on some general aspects of writing the 5 paragraph persuasive research paper/essay as we move into our final weeks.
Just some reminders as we move forward as we begin revising into the final draft. I can see your paper shifting toward argumentative/persuasive rhetoric. Make sure you follow a five paragraph traditional guideline—an introduction that ends with a thesis statement, three supporting paragraphs that directly relate to the three supporting points you assert in the thesis statement, and a conclusion. The thesis statement is one strong declarative statement (not a question and not wishy-washy) that asserts the topic (gun control), the position/point of the paper (conceal and carry laws save lives) and the three key supporting ideas you will use in this essay. You can have more than three supporting points if you go outside the 5 paragraph guideline but your thesis statement--- No matter how big your papers get—is only ever required to present the first KEY supporting ideas. Thus, whether your paper is 5 pages or 20, your thesis statement will never change formulates: topic, position, three key ideas all rolled together into one strong statement. The conclusion’s first sentence reasserts the thesis statement but with different words. Its job is to clearly (but in the third person) assert I did my job proving this to you. Conceptually, comment on your argument and bring the issue back out to the world at large. The paragraphs in between the introduction and conclusion are supporting paragraphs. This is where the paraphrased and direct quotes from sources goes, as it supports your ideas. There should not be quotes in the conclusion or introduction unless it is a short attention getter. The function of the quotes in the supporting paragraph is to buttress your argument and position. Thus, the 5-paragraph guideline is a guideline because you can have more than three supporting paragraphs and it does not change the structure of the paper. However, if you find yourself going beyond three supporting paragraphs [not for this paper or assignment], then incorporate APA headings to organize your supporting paragraph by categorizing each supporting point. See headings inwww.apastyle.org
The essay should follow traditional essay structure guidelines. Essays begin with a strong introduction that ends in a strong thesis statement; have well-developed supporting paragraphs with paraphrased information and direct quotes to support your analysis and commentary and a conclusion that reasserts the thesis (but in different words). The supporting paragraphs follow a structure of topic sentence develop yourPoint,Illustrateyour point with a quote,Explainhow that point supports your position that you are arguing or persuading. Transition out of the paragraph by bringing it back around to the main idea before you move on to the next supporting paragraph. In short, supporting paragraph structure isPIE—point, illustrate, explain—in the body of the paragraph. They always begin with a topic sentence that addresses the question, what is the topic of this paragraph? They always end with a transition and have PIE in the middle. The paraphrased information usually ends up when you are making your point and explaining your point. The illustration is almost always a direct quote to support your argument. Remember, this is not an informative paper. You must make an argument about the topic, not just provide information.
The quotes you use to support your argument should be about the argument, rather than just providing information on the topic. The paper will be 85% to 90% your original thinking about the topic and then 10-15% will be supports in the form of direct quotes and paraphrased information, which will support the argument you are trying to make. Many students do the reverse and it is a mistake. The paper is YOUR paper with your thoughts on the subject supported by 10-15% quotes and paraphrased information. I look forward to seeing how your paper transforms next week.
Remember that for persuasive/argumentative rhetoric, the topic is not the topic. The topic of the paper is the position you are arguing. For example, if I am writing that ISIS should be eradicated as a matter of national security, my topic is not ISIS. My topic is that it should be eradicated. Another example, if I am writing that school uniforms should be mandatory in all educational environments, I am not writing about school uniforms. Rather, my paper is on the WHY of them being mandatory and proving that point. It is a fine distinction but one that changes the paper from informative to persuasive rhetoric; thus, it is very important.
Your conclusion should always begin with a restatement of the thesis statement (the last sentence in the introduction that has the topic, point/purpose, and 3 key ideas that is your thesis statement) with new words. Rather than beginning by saying, In conclusion, try using a word that asserts your confidence that you completed the task in hand. Apparently, Clearly, Obviously, Undoubtedly, etc.
Make sure that any reference on the reference page – 3 sources are required—has at least ONE corresponding citation, whether paraphrased or directly quoted citation, in one of the supporting paragraphs. Make sure your citations with direct quotes have a page number or a para. number, “quote” (last name, date, p. ). The citation goes outside the quote or sentence and the period goes after the citation. The full reference must be represented on the reference page. If you do not utilize the source in the paper then it does not “count” on the reference page and should not be represented there.

THE ASSIGNMENT SHALL BE THE FOLLOWING:
This week, you will submit yourfinal draft of the argumentative essay. This paper must be 500 words, not including the title and reference page (and absolutely no more than 600 words) accepted in APA format. This is the final revision of the revision we just completed. Include a title page and reference page (not included in the page count). Be sure to review the instructor's comments on your rough draft and use that feedback to help you revise your paper.
