An educated engineer need not necessarily be a great strategist and hence many times great
enginee
rs fail in achieving a grand business success. On the other hand, the school or college
dropouts become leading businessmen as a result of being great strategists. The best example of
a non- engineering person reaching great heights is Bill Gates. The great strategic mindset took
his company Microsoft to glorious heights due to his strategic mindset. The business failures
include Compaq which was at its peak in sale of PC’s in 1990’s but in 2002 suffered a strategic
failure. The main reason of such failures is that the engineers try to put the perfections into their
product which may not be required or at least the consumer is not aware of utilities of its
