Gothic and Romanesque cathedrals (Data file: cathedral) The data file gives Height = nave height and Length = total length, both in feet, for medieval English cathedrals. The cathedrals can be classified according to their architectural style, either Romanesque or the later Gothic style. Some cathedrals have both a Gothic and a Romanesque part, each of differing height; these cathedrals are included twice. Names of the cathedrals are also provided in the file. The data were provided by Stephen Jay Gould based on plans given by Clapham (1934).
